Startups Lab review.
Startups Lab helps you launch your product for more visibility, with a high DR backlink and a simple, low-friction submission flow.
https://startupslab.siteQuick first look
Startups Lab is a launch platform to showcase your product. It's built for people who are seeking more visibility, and it seems like one launch platform among others.
The landing page instantly tells you what you get: a DR 56 backlink. Nice. We all love backlinks.
Design and first impressions
The website design is nice. It feels clean and polished, and I like it a lot.
One thing that stood out though: in the bottom right corner there’s a badge that shows active users count. It looked like there was only one active user (me). I'm not a huge fan of this because it doesn't feel very convincing. I'd rather see weekly or monthly visitors count, since that's what actually matters.
Rankings and visibility (a bit confusing)
While scrolling through the landing page, I saw three top ranking launches. The top launch had 29 upvotes, but then in the next section called "Featured Innovations" there was a product with 33 upvotes. Since 33 is more than 29, that confused me.
I also couldn’t tell what "top" means here. Is it top this week, top this month, or top overall?
Pricing might be part of why this feels unclear. You can launch for free, but there are a few different pricing plans from $6 to $20, and they’re one-time payments. The different plans basically give you more visibility and better support, which makes me wonder how the ranking and placement work.
Ads and traffic transparency
You can also purchase ad space on the site. If I'm considering advertising, I'd want to see how many visitors the site gets per week or per month, like I mentioned earlier. I'm not really interested in how many visitors are on the site right this second.
Launch flow
Launching your product on Startups Lab seems easy. One thing I really like is that you can enter your website and fetch details automatically. Now please make fetching the logo automatic too, and there will be basically zero friction.
Final take
If the ranking system and the different lists were made a little clearer, I see this as a good launch platform where you can get a high DR backlink for yourself. I honestly see no reason why I shouldn't launch my product here.
