Overview

XPromotr is a marketing tool that helps businesses grow by allowing them to promote products and services across different platforms. It makes it easy to guide customers to more valuable pages and boost engagement.

Website First Impressions

When I first looked at the XPromotr website, the design seemed a bit outdated, like something from over 10 years ago. But honestly, that's not a huge deal for me.

It did take a while to figure out what the tool actually does, since the website uses a lot of fancy language. Basically, it's a CTA widget creator. I think they should use more examples to show how it works instead of just lots of text.

Widget Functionality

So, it's all about creating widgets. You can change images, add text and calls to action, and decide how it looks on your site. But the customization part was a bit confusing.

For instance, you can't change colors directly. The FAQ says you can contact them to change colors and fonts, but I'd rather do it myself right away.

Also, you have to use image links instead of uploading directly. It's annoying to upload images elsewhere first and then paste the link.

I initially couldn't find where to change the widget title since it's under the branding tab, which seemed a bit odd to me.

I did notice several widget options are labeled with "Coming soon!" which suggests they're actively working on new features.

Useful Features

What I really liked is you can preview your widget on a demo site before adding it to your own. That's a handy feature.

They also offer analytics for each widget, so you can track views, expansions, closings, and clicks. That's nice.

Overall Thoughts

The product is simple and easy to use but lacks some customization features. There's definitely room for improvement in both the landing page and widget options. As long as it works and is user-friendly, I'm not too worried about the design being perfect. Overall, it's a good starting point.
